So while I did move at the end of June, I was still able to hit up some wineries that are this months favorites. *side note, I can’t believe I forgot to take photos from either winery on my list today. I swear I did every time I went and could not find a single one.
Soda rock: Now I don’t know if a lot of people know about this winery, because to me it seems to be off the beaten path, but that’s one of the reasons I love this place. The staff is so friendly, and I don’t know if it speaks to them or me, but they remembered me every time I went into that place. They have a large boar out front which is so fun to take your picture with too! Their tastings are super reasonable too as they start at just $15 dollars. One of my favorites from there is the Lord Snort, and not being a big red wine drinker that is saying something. Check out there site here Soda Rock
White oak: This is another winery that I swear doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. It’s a cute, smaller tasting room, but the staff is so friendly and the absolute awesome thing that I love so much about White Oak is that they do a food pairing with every tasting, at no up charge. It’s a small little cheese and meat plate that pairs oh so nicely with each wine that you taste. Now, not to say it’ll always be that way but every time we went, we got the food included in the price of our tasting. Their tastings also start at $15 dollars. Check out their site here White Oak
Another great thing about both wineries on today’s list is that you don’t need reservations. I’m very big into wineries that don’t need them so that you can enjoy your tastings and not feel rushed, or be spontaneous if you see a winery as your driving down the road. Sadly, more and more wineries do require reservations, so finding these gems is a hidden treasure.
