When you live in Florida a lot of times people think the only thing to do is go to the beach or to the theme parks. Now while doing both is great, these aren’t the only great things to do. The beach is fun but may not be great for everyone depending on if you like the beach or if you burn easily. The theme parks are great too but they can be expensive. Here’s a list of some other things that you can do around the central Florida area.
Crayola experience: This place is awesome if you have kids that are into art/coloring/being creative. You can make your own crayon names and wrap them, you can also make wax figures, and different kinds of crayon art. They have other activities as well so kids of all ages can participate. https://www.crayolaexperience.com/orlando
Sealife: If your child is into sea animals at all then this aquarium us for them and you. Lots to do and see, and it’s indoors which is perfect for those hot Florida days. https://www.visitsealife.com/orlando/
Orlando science center: I am one for museums and centers where they have different zones and tons of different activities for you to participate in. It’s great to go to a location where it’s not just one and done so you can stay entertained the entire time you are there. They also have rotating exhibits so it’s like a new experience every time you go. https://www.osc.org
Monkey joes: Who doesn’t love indoor games and bouncy houses? Well if this is something your kid loves then this is the place for you. You can also host birthday parties here which I’m sure is a big hit with the kiddos. https://www.monkeyjoes.com/locations/pointe-orlando/
Disney springs: awhile technically on Disney property, this is not a theme park so I decided to include it. Disney springs is great because you can shop and eat here, but they always seem to have something going on. They also have a carousel and a train ride the kiddos can ride on. Not to mention a fun LEGO store where the kids can play with LEGO bricks. https://www.disneysprings.com
Old town: Another shopping area in the Kissimmee area, this one has a lot of interesting and different kinds of stores. They also have events and activities as well as some rides to ride. https://myoldtownusa.com
Putt putt golf: Seems like on every other corner there is a putt putt golf course in central Florida. That’s one reason why I did not link a course website, because there isn’t just one or a best one in the area in my opinion. But they are fun, unless your family is the competitive type.
Gator land:Where can you see gators in all sizes, birds, a petting zoo, a zip line, and an off road adventure? Gator land is your answer. Lots of activities for those who are looking for a little adventure when it comes to animals. https://www.gatorland.com
Dinosaur land: If gators aren’t your thing, maybe dinosaurs are. Here you can see dinosaurs in different exhibits, play on playgrounds, walk through nature walks, have a picnic, and check out their great gift shop. https://dinosaurworld.com
Medieval times: Eat with your hands, watch duels, and see knights riding horses competing in events, I don’t think there is anything better that you can do! https://www.medievaltimes.com/plan-your-trip/orlando-fl/index.html
Now there is plenty other to do in central Florida. This list could go on forever, but these are ones that made this first cut. Is there anything you want to see, or wish I had listed? Do you have favorites that aren’t theme parks?
